Lightbridge 2 breaks new technical limits to drone pilots to travel further and see more clearly. Together with the integrated controller and intelligent algorithms, Lightbridge 2 sets new standards in wireless HD image or video transmission by lowering latency and increasing maximum range and reliability.
With advanced cameras like the GoPro Hero 4, drones are capable of transmitting superb videos. In the past, the outdated FPV (first person view) had a low resolution of 640X480 and in addition to the drone's noise interference delivered very low quality images. But all that changed. Today pilots get to experience the luxury of a high definition video feed. HD transmitters are becoming more affordable and with the launch of LightBridge 2, you can have full HD 1080i/50fps and 720p/59.94fps, video streaming from your drone right to your eyes in real time.
Bow you can broadcast everything live: from global news events to sports to your local concerts and gatherings, all directly to large-screen displays, for large audiences or standard TV channels. The Lightbridge 2 has been designed to meet the requirements of professional broadcasting at high frame rates and HD clarity. USB, mini-HDMI and 3G-SDI ports support video output at up to 1080p/60fps or broadcast standard output of 720p/59.94fps and 1080i/50fps.
Lightbridge 2 can stream the video right to your tablet or any other HDMI device. But not only will it will stream HD video, it will also handle the control link and give you live flight data such as: vertical speed, horizontal speed, GPS heading, altitude, flight battery voltage, signal strength and more. In addition, the ground unit has a built-in battery that will last for multiple hours and can also charge your smartphone or tablet via USB. It also can be powered by an external power supply.
With a new, powerful hardware encoder and advanced algorithms, total latency has been significantly reduced to as low as 50ms. So you can see what your camera sees and capture footage as never before. Aircraft and camera control signals are also transmitted over Lightbridge 2 at lightning fast speeds, giving you smooth, responsive navigation as you fly or direct your camera.
Lightbridge 2 wirelessly transmits HD video at a range of up to 1.2 miles (2 km). All this to ensure that you will be able to explore distant locations and capture any perspective, always receiving a crystal clear image of your camera’s sight.
After installing it you can start broadcasting within seconds. The Lightbridge 2 doesn't need many parts you need to carry, mount or setup. With the receiver fully integrated into a new remote controller, simply connect your display equipment, power your system on, and you are ready to go.
The Lightbridge supplied remote provides easy access to vital functions. It has dedicated hardware controls for photo and video capture, gimbal pitch control, sensitive flight control sticks and dedicated Return To Home and customizable buttons. Camera control functionality is dependent on the paired camera and the custom button functionality is dependent on the flight controller you use.
As an innovative device, Lightbridge 2 automatically adapts in real time to keep latency low while maintaining a strong signal. For uninterrupted transmission, a high-speed processor chooses the best channel and bandwidth based on current distance and electromagnetic environment. When using the GO app, you can choose to maximize video quality or focus on lower latency, and manually change to your desired transmission channel.
With Lightbridge 2 you can transmit the same live HD view wirelessly to several devices by connecting multiple remote controllers in Master-Slave mode. Lightbridge 2 supports up to one Master and three Slave devices at the same time, so the pilot, gimbal operator, director, and broadcast team can all receive the video signal and monitor the shooting process from different places.
Use the powerful DJI GO app to control your camera, access intelligent navigation settings, and receive a live HD view of what the camera sees, on your paired mobile device. Flight information including current status, full telemetry, location, heading, and more is displayed and updated live, making every flight safe and convenient.
Today you can build your custom system out of parts that work perfectly together, because they were designed to. If you have an existing system based on the previous version of Lightbridge, or are currently using a analog or WiFi-based video downlink, you can easily upgrade to the Lightbridge 2.
Basically the concept of Lightbridge is an HD video and communication system that takes video transmitters, OSD’s and control signals and puts it all into one system. So when DJI says that the Inspire 1 has Lightbridge inside, that just mean that it has an all in one communication system that also streams HD video.
